We believe in:
Jobs with dignity and living wages
Economic prosperity for individuals, enterprises and communities
Equal employment opportunity for all people who have been marginalized in our society, with a particular focus on racial, ethnic, economic and gender equity
Building up our Living Wage Certified Employers
We can help bring about a more just economy by promoting living wages and by collaborating with partner organizations that seek to:
Reduce barriers to employment
Place marginalized workers in living wage jobs
Provide workers with a broader set of employment benefits and protections
We’re a membership-based, volunteer-led organization based in Nashville, TN.
Our mission is to educate our community on the importance and urgency of a "more just" minimum wage.
We hope to inspire businesses to pay a living wage now and commit to providing a living wage in the future while also helping community members (residents and visitors) become conscientious consumers by supporting living wage businesses.
After the A Voice for the Reduction of Poverty’s 2019 “Nashville Rising” event took place, a sub-committee in support of creating a living wage formed and took on the initiative to raise awareness around the benefits that living wages bring to employees, employers and communities. Through consistent meetings and research, we’ve officially formed the Nashville Living Wage Committee and serve Davidson County.
