The Nashville Living Wage community is composed of workers mobilizing to raise wage standards, employers striving to pay their employees a living wage, and consumers interested in making ethical purchasing decisions throughout Nashville, TN.

Our Nashville Living Wage Board and Advisory Committee include activists, restaurant workers, immigrants, refugees, non-profit leaders, the union/labor community, and those with legal, production and design expertise.

The Nashville Living Wage Board

approves all applications for certification that have been reviewed and recommended by the Advisory Committee. Upon approval, the certified employer will be notified and sent a welcome packet detailing certification benefits as a Nashville Living Wage Employer. If an application for certification is not recommended for approval by the Advisory Committee, the Board should encourage and assist the employer to work toward living wage certification. The Board is responsible for the overall operation of Nashville Living Wage and continually educates our community about living wage standards.

The Nashville Living Wage Advisory Committee

reviews applications for certification and makes the recommendation for certification to the NLW Board of Directors.  The Advisory Committee is composed of volunteers including employers, employees, and community members. The strength of this committee comes from the broad set of experiences represented. This Committee will review applications quarterly and re-evaluate certifications every two years to adjust for the current local living wage standard.
